Toll Charges in Himachal to Increase from April 1: Here’s What You’ll Pay
Visiting Himachal Pradesh is set to become costlier from April 1, as the state government has announced a hike in toll barrier fees for the financial year 2025-26. Private vehicle owners will see a ₹10 increase, while commercial and cargo vehicles will have to pay ₹20 more. The revised rates will be applicable at all 55 toll barriers across the state.
New Toll Rates for Vehicles
Private vehicles: ₹70 (previously ₹60) for a 24-hour pass
Passenger vehicles (6-12 seats): ₹110
Passenger vehicles (more than 12 seats): ₹180
Heavy cargo vehicles: ₹570 (previously ₹550)
Cargo vehicles over 250 quintals: ₹720
Cargo vehicles (120-250 quintals): ₹570
Cargo vehicles (90-120 quintals): ₹320
Cargo vehicles (20-90 quintals): ₹170
Small goods vehicles (<20 quintals): ₹130
Tractors (private and public): ₹70
No Exemptions for Local Transporters
The revised toll charges will also apply to Himachal-registered heavy cargo vehicles, as the government has not provided any exemptions for local transporters. The Tax and Excise Department has confirmed that new rates will also reflect in quarterly and annual passes.
With these changes, transport costs are expected to rise, impacting both travelers and businesses relying on road transport within the state.
