State Congress today hoisted the national flag on the occasion of Himachal Day

State Congress today hoisted the national flag on the occasion of Himachal Day at Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan and took salute from the Seva Dal contingent comprising Shakt Ram Kashyap, Ramesh Kumar, Naresh Thakur, Sandeep Thakur, Amit Kumar Sunil and Rajesh.
In his address on this occasion, State Congress Committee General Secretary, Himunda Vice President Yashwant Chhajta said that Congress has a huge contribution in the development of Himachal Pradesh. He said that on this day in 1948, Himachal came into existence by merging 30 small hill princely states. He said that the story of development written by the state through this journey from then till today is in front of the country today. Himachal is today known as a model of development in hill states. Today every village of the state is connected with road facilities. Electricity and clean drinking water are available in every house. Basic facilities like education and health are available in every village today and all this is the contribution of Congress governments whether it was at the Center or in the state.
Yashwant Chhajta said that while the first Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar laid the foundation of this state, the six-time Chief Minister of the state Late Virbhadra Singh played a very important role in the construction of modern Himachal. Today, whatever expansion has taken place in education, health as well as basic facilities in the state, Late Virbhadra Singh has contributed to it.
