State Congress government is responsible for not paying MNREGA wages: Sandipani
BJP state spokesperson Sandipani Bhardwaj said that the Congress government in the state is responsible for not paying MNREGA wages. The Congress party is once again trying to set a false narrative about MNREGA. It seems that the entire fault regarding MNREGA is of the Congress government in the state and the state government is trying unsuccessfully to shift its mistakes to the central government.
Sandipani said that the central government has not stopped the money for any scheme of Himachal Pradesh, if the money is stopped then it is only due to the failure of the current Congress government. Himachal Pradesh has to pay 123.24 crores to the central government for the MNREGA scheme, due to which the installment of Himachal Pradesh is pending.
If we talk about their sub heads, then Himachal government owes 95.41 crores for salary, 25.22 crores for material and 2.60 crores for administrative expenses. When Himachal Pradesh pays this liability to the centre, then all the money under MNREGA will also come to the state, so the fault lies with the Congress government, but as there is a tradition in Himachal Pradesh that any mistake of the current Congress government is put on the court of the central government.
Sandipani said that the Congress government of the state is doing similar things with all the projects run by the Centre. Congress does not want the benefits of the schemes of the Central Government to reach the people of Himachal Pradesh. The state is not depositing its 10% share in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Kisan Unnat Yojana, Mission Shakti, Poshan Shakti, Samagra Shiksha and schemes related to all the areas of Himachal Pradesh, due to which Himachal Pradesh is not able to get the money from the Centre in full.
Sandipani said that the question arises that the Congress party government should explain whether Rs 25 crore was not sent by the central government to the state treasury under MNREGA on 11 December 2024, 7 January 2025, 27 February 2025 and 25 March 2025?
Did Rs 414 crore of MNREGA not come in the financial year 2024 and 2025?
If the outstanding amount of MNREGA does not reach the treasury of Himachal Pradesh, then is the Congress government not responsible for it?
Sandipani said that under MNREGA, if we talk about the whole country, 75% of the expenditure is borne by the Central Government and 25% by the State Government. Perhaps the Congress Government has forgotten that in Himachal Pradesh, 90% of the expenditure is borne by the Central Government and only 10% of the expenditure is the contribution of the current Himachal Government and this is the contribution of the Union Government of the Bharatiya Janata Party, if there was a Congress Government, then the 75-25 model would have been followed in Himachal Pradesh as well.
