St. Edward’s School Celebrates the Spectrum of Emotions with ‘NAVRAS’ – A Colourful Junior School Annual Function

St. Edward’s School, renowned for its commitment to holistic education, hosted its Junior School Annual Function 2025, with great pride under the theme ‘NAVRAS – Celebrating Our Emotions.’ The event was graced by Justice Bipin Chander Negi an Alumnus of our school.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the school flag, followed by the stirring rendition of the School Anthem, setting a tone of pride and unity among students, staff, and parents alike.

The theme ‘Navras’, rooted in Indian aesthetic philosophy, was beautifully introduced, laying the foundation for a vibrant journey through the nine Rasas that define the human experience:

Shringar Ras (Love and Beauty)

Karuna Ras (Compassion)

Adbhut Ras (Wonder)

Raudra Ras (Anger)

Bhakti Ras (Devotion)

Bhayanak Ras (Fear)

Hasya Ras (Laughter)

Veer Ras (Courage)

Shant Ras (Peace)

Each emotion was brought to life through soulful performances by the students, combining music, dance and dramatisation. The event culminated in a Grand Finale, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of all emotions and the immense talent and creativity of the young Edwardians.

In his address, Justice Bipin Chander Negi lauded the school’s efforts in nurturing not only academic excellence but emotional intelligence in children. He emphasised the importance of understanding and expressing emotions in shaping empathetic and resilient individuals.

The School Principal, Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira, felicitated the Chief Guest whereafter the National Anthem ordained the ambience with a sense of pride and unity.
