RTI mentions minister’s 40 percent stake in under-construction stone crusher, demands impartial investigation into violation of rules: Ravindra Dhiman
Former MLA and BJP leader Ravinder Dhiman has leveled serious allegations against state government minister Yadavindra Goma of partnering in a stone crusher under construction in Hanon, Jaisinghpur area, and ignoring rules in its construction. He said that information revealed through RTI claims the minister has a 40 percent stake in the stone crusher under construction. Therefore, the documents and records related to the entire matter should be investigated impartially and the true situation should be brought to the public’s attention.
Dhiman stated that the involvement of a minister or MLA in such business activities raises serious questions regarding the accountability and conflict of interest of public representatives. He stated that the entire matter should be investigated at the appropriate level in accordance with applicable legal provisions, including the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
He alleged that the stone crusher being built near the Kangehan Bridge is ignoring mining regulations and prescribed standards. He said that under the rules, a crusher cannot be installed within 200 meters of the bridge or 300 meters below it, but in this case, serious questions have been raised about compliance with these standards.
Ravindra Dhiman said that even more serious is the fact that construction work is allegedly continuing despite a stay granted by the Himachal Pradesh High Court on December 9, 2025, in the Mushtarika land case. He said that if the court’s stay order is in effect, the administration should clarify on what basis the construction is ongoing and what action has been taken so far to stop it.
He alleged that despite repeated local level complaints, the relevant administrative officials are not taking effective action. This raises the question whether rules are being circumvented due to influence from those in power. He demanded that the government make all documents related to the case public and that legal action be taken against those responsible if any violations are found at any level.
The former MLA said that the potential impact of the proposed stone crusher on nearby drinking water sources and the environment cannot be ignored. This is a matter directly related to the public interest and natural resources of the area. No one should be allowed to endanger people’s drinking water sources and the environment in the name of development or business.
Dhiman stated that he has sent a letter to the Governor, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister, and the Leader of the Opposition regarding the entire matter, demanding an impartial investigation and necessary legal action. He stated that if the investigation reveals facts related to a cognizable offense, an FIR should be filed and action taken as per the rules.
Taking aim at Minister Yadavindra Goma, Ravindra Dhiman said that questions raised by the public should be answered based on facts and documents. He said, “Power is not permanent, but accountability to the public is always there. No person holding a political position can be above the law and rules.”
He said that the BJP will continue to strongly raise its voice on issues concerning the interests of the people of Jaisinghpur. The party will continue its democratic struggle on issues related to violation of rules, environmental protection, drinking water schemes, and public interest.
Dhiman demanded from the administration that a timely and impartial investigation of the entire matter should be conducted and all the facts should be made public, so that there is no scope for any kind of doubt and the public can know the real situation.
