Pratibha asks party workers to come forward unitedly and protect the Constitution of India
State Congress President and former MP Pratibha Singh has asked the party workers to come forward unitedly to protect the Constitution of the country. She has said that the way the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is trying to weaken the Constitution by tampering with it is very unfortunate.
While presiding over the program organized on Constitution Day at the State Congress Headquarters Rajiv Bhawan today, Pratibha Singh administered the oath of protecting the Constitution to the party workers and Sevadal officials present in the gathering. She said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar has protected human rights in the Constitution and today the NDA government at the Center is violating those rights. Under a well-planned strategy, efforts are being made to weaken Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Constitution. She said that now the time has come to make the people of the country aware of their rights. For this, she called upon all Congressmen to come forward and unite.
Pratibha Singh said that the way the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi had undertaken the Bharat Jodo Padyatra of 3570 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir for the unity and integrity of the country was very historic. She said that Rahul Gandhi is fighting a very big battle with the NDA government at the center to save the constitution of the country and we have to strengthen his hands in this battle.
Pratibha Singh also termed the Lok Sabha victory of newly elected MP and All India Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi as historic and said that her election as MP has given great strength to the Congress and Priyanka will become a strong voice of women in the Parliament. All India Congress Committee Secretary and Co-in-charge of State Affairs Chetan Chauhan and Vidit Chaudhary also addressed the meeting and said that Congress will not allow any kind of tampering with the Constitution of the country. He said that if the Constitution weakens in the country, then the democracy of the country will be in danger and the country will go into the hands of Hitlerism. He said that everyone will have to unite against the forces weakening democracy and for this the Congress Party has a huge responsibility.
In his address, the treasurer of All India Congress Sevadal and in-charge of the state Sevadal, Narendra Batish, said that we will have to fight unitedly against the divisive forces in the country. He said that Sevadal had played a huge responsibility at the time of independence of the country and now they have a huge responsibility to save the Constitution, which they will have to fulfill with full honesty.
State Sevadal President Anurag Sharma said that this country will never forgive those who weaken the Constitution. He said that Sevadal understands all its responsibilities and fulfills them at all times.
State Women Congress President Zainab Chandel also expressed her views on the Preamble of the Constitution in her address and criticised the disruptive forces and called for alerting the people.
