Parala Food Processing Plant is a contribution of World Bank and Central Government: Verma

BJP spokesperson and MLA Balbir Verma said that Parala, Asia’s largest food processing unit, is a contribution of the World Bank and the Central Government.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is only doing the work of cutting ribbons and laying the foundation stone and it is clear that the present Congress government is getting everything handed to it on a plate and they are only doing the work of enjoying.

101 crore rupees were received by the World Bank to build a food processing plant in Parala and after that, from 2016-17, the Jairam Thakur government worked intensively and completed it. The complete work of the plant was done only during the previous government. This market could not be inaugurated due to water problem and site development work. Today, after both these works were completed, the Chief Minister inaugurated this plant.

This plant is the biggest gift to the farmers of Himachal Pradesh by the Central Government. Former minister Narendra Bragta also fought for this plant and had a very important contribution in its establishment, today he is not in the world but the work done by him is still proving to be a big boon for the farmers.

He said that earlier apples were taken to Parwanoo to make juice, jam and other products, by the time they reached Parwanoo, a large quantity of apples were spoiled, but today all these are coming in trouble. Neither does everything get spoiled due to this and farmers also get good prices for apples, overall this plant has benefited the farmers a lot.

He said that the failure of the government is clearly visible in the DGP case and the government does not take decisions where it has to be taken and takes decisions where it does not have to be taken. It is a matter of shame for the government that the removal of DGP happened after the court’s rebuke. The government should think about this.
