Newly elected ward members took oath of office and secrecy in Peeran
An oath-taking ceremony was held on Saturday in the village panchayat of Peeran in the Mashobra development block. Panchayat head Nisha Devi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected ward members. Ward members who took the oath included Prem Das Sharma, Archana Thakur, Anuradha Devi, Suraksha Devi, and Narayan Singh.
On this occasion, Pradhan Nisha Devi and Deputy Pradhan Attar Singh Thakur honored former Panchayat Pradhan Kiran Sharma, former Deputy Pradhan Sandeep Mehta, former ward member Virendra Thakur, and Narayan Dutt with garlands and mufflers. Women were also honored with traditional dhaathus, commending their contributions to the development of the Panchayat.
At the event, GRS Rajendra Thakur of Mashobra Development Block provided detailed information to the newly elected Panchayat representatives about the various provisions, rights, duties, and responsibilities of the Panchayati Raj Act. He urged the representatives to discharge their duties honestly, prioritizing transparency, public interest, and development work.
Local dignitaries and villagers including Panchayat representatives were also present in the oath taking ceremony.
