New Ayurvedic Multispecialty Hospital Inaugurated in Palampur: A Step Toward Holistic Healthcare

Palampur, December 22, 2024 – Himachal Pradesh’s AYUSH, Youth Services, and Sports Minister, Yadvinder Goma, inaugurated the DMC Ayurvedic Multispecialty Hospital in Palampur, alongside local MLA Ashish Butel. This new facility promises to strengthen healthcare services in the region by combining ancient Ayurvedic practices with modern amenities.

Boosting Healthcare Infrastructure

The inauguration ceremony included an inspection of the hospital’s facilities, with a focus on both OPD and IPD services. Yadvinder Goma commended the National Career Public Education Society for its initiative in establishing the hospital, ensuring that advanced Ayurvedic healthcare becomes accessible to the people of Palampur.

Minister Goma highlighted the state government’s commitment to delivering top-notch healthcare services across Himachal Pradesh. In line with this, 150 AYUSH doctor posts have been filled over the last six months to enhance healthcare accessibility. He also noted the growing global recognition of AYUSH practices, particularly yoga, as a path to holistic health. The state’s wellness centers are actively promoting yoga as a means to improve community well-being.

Efforts are also underway to bolster facilities at Rajiv Gandhi State Postgraduate Ayurvedic Hospital, Paprola, with additional doctor posts planned for AYUSH dispensaries in the region, including Balla Panchayat.

Support from Local Leadership

MLA Ashish Butel praised the National Career Public Education Society for its contributions to medical education and healthcare, including the operation of nursing and pharmacy colleges. He emphasized the hospital’s role in providing advanced healthcare options to the residents of Palampur. Butel also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of nursing students to the local healthcare system.

A Celebration of Culture and Commitment

The event was marked by cultural performances from students of Netaji Subhash Nursing College and Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy. To encourage their efforts, Minister Goma announced a financial reward of Rs 31,000.

Institution president Bhubanesh Chand Sood honored both Minister Goma and MLA Butel with traditional shawls and caps, symbolizing gratitude for their support.

Dignitaries in Attendance

The ceremony saw the presence of notable figures, including Dr. Shashi Kumar Dhiman, Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Dr. Jai Dev, Dean of the university, Dr. Rashmi Agnihotri, Deputy Director of the AYUSH Department, and Dr. Harish Bhardwaj, District AYUSH Officer. Local leaders, municipal councilors, and other dignitaries also attended the event.

This new Ayurvedic multispecialty hospital is set to play a pivotal role in integrating traditional and modern healthcare, benefiting the people of Palampur and beyond.
