Modi government is very sensitive towards the disabled: Pandit Vikas Sharma

National Coordinator of Namo Divyang Abhiyan Pandit Vikas Sharma while addressing a press conference in Shimla said that we should unite and make efforts to bring Prime Minister Modi, who leads a party that provides moral, political participation and social justice to the disabled, to power once again. He said that Modi Ji decorated our class with the word Divyang instead of Viklang. The population of disabled voters in the country is around 15%, which includes disabled people of various categories. Before 2014, Congress governments were also working in the country and the state, but the disabled were never properly identified. The victims of only three categories and a long list were deprived of their rights from those facilities. Modi Ji’s guarantee of providing housing and assistive devices to every disabled person will greatly benefit the disabled.

Under Rahul’s leadership, Congress did not pass the Disabled Rights Act from the Parliament. He said that for 10 years, we, the disabled people of the country, fought a long battle and Prime Minister Modi, after forming the government in 2014, included it in his manifesto and got the Disabled Rights Act 2016 passed from the Indian Parliament, but before 2014, no initiative was taken in this area. This government did not remember the disabled class for a long time, nor was there any law for them in the Indian Constitution. The Congress government made the first law after independence in 1995, to amend which we kept fighting with that government for 10 years. In which there was never any preference for the disabled people, and kept considering them as a useless class.

He said that BJP brought a new and strong act in 2016 and gave due respect and rights to this community. The Modi government at the center has given concession in GST to the disabled on the purchase of four wheelers. Disabled were given benefits through free (NHAI) fast tag, 50% vehicle insurance discount, free road tax, increasing reservation quota in employment sector to 4% and in educational institutions by 5%. At the same time, the Jairam government of the state, through the Sahara Yojana in the state, gave 3000 rupees to every seriously disabled person of the state who is suffering from cancer, TB or many other dangerous diseases.

Which is being obstructed by the present Congress government.

Pandit Vikas Sharma has appealed to every handicapped voter of Himachal, senior citizens, transgenders and for whomever Prime Minister Modi has clearly mentioned in the Sankalp Patra that now no one will be deprived of a positive constructive vision through his schemes. Therefore, vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party without any doubt. Ensure your participation in the building of your nation by bringing the government to the center under the leadership of Modi.
