Jal Shakti Vibhag successfully implements e-Office platform in 101 offices
The Jal Shakti Vibhag has taken a major step forward in advancing digital governance reforms by successfully implementing the e-Office platform in 101 offices of the department. This initiative has accelerated administrative processes and strengthened digital transformation.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu appreciated the department’s digital revolution and stated that departmental communication is now being carried out through the e-Office platform. This has increased efficiency in work and ensured timely execution through digital means, along with improved transparency in operations.
Deputy Chief Minister and Jal Shakti Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the department has achieved its goal of becoming digital within the stipulated timeline. He described this initiative as a historic step towards making the department more transparent, accountable and efficient.
Jal Shakti Vibhag Secretary Dr. Abhishek Jain said that the completion of this initiative within the stipulated time frame reflects the commitment and dedication of the department’s officers and employees.
The offices where e-Office system has been successfully implemented include two offices at the Chief Engineer level, namely Jal Shakti Department Shimla and Jal Shakti Department – Project, Mandi, all seven Chief Engineer offices, including zone offices, State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission, Design and Quality Control, and Chief Engineer PMU Mandi, 17 circle offices under Superintending Engineers, and 75 Executive Engineer offices. Training centres such as the HP State Water and Community Training Institute, Dhangsidhar, Mandi are also included.
He further stated that now file movement – from the Chief Engineer to the Secretariat, from the Secretariat to the Jal Shakti Minister’s office and thereafter to the Chief Minister’s Office – is being carried out through the e-Office platform. Most departmental work is now being handled digitally.
This digital transformation has enabled timely execution of work, improved transparency and real-time tracking of files. He added that the department is now progressing towards complete digitization at the sub-division level as well.
