Jai Ram Thakur to be known CM of Helicopter : Congress

Opposition Congress today blamed the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to indulge in misuse of State Government Helicopter alleging that Mr Thakur would be known as ‘Helicopter vale CM or Hoarding vale CM’ as he never left the chopper for his shortest visit, this was stated by member of Congress from Kinnuar Jagat Singh Negi, who was taking part on the No-Confidence Motion brought in the monsoon session of state assembly on Thursday. Taking part in the motion, Jagat Singh Negi said that no tribal areas were visited by the Chief minister for last four and half year however he rarely used the services of Helicopter to visit tribal area. He said that chief Minister was found visit to Solan from Aanadale which should be done with the road. He said that he never said that Chief Minister should not use the Helicopter but there could be seen cut out of Chief minister in the tribal areas . Defending him Chief Minister said that it was not he who used Helicopter for the first time in his short tenure of four and half years. It was in 1993 when government hired the services of Helicopter first time and since then it has been used frequently by all Chief Ministers. The former Congress rule was using a big helicopter which was replaced by a small helicopter by this government. Himachal Pradesh is only government which is hiring cheapest helicopter for to ferry chief minister.  Chief Minister defended him on the charges of taking whopping lending during his four and half hears of rule .He said that during the last Government he inherited debt of Rs. 48000 Cr from the predecessors till 2017 as debt of loan increased by 67 per cent increased during last Virbhadra Singh. Chief Minister who also hold the portfolio finance that total debt till today in his government increased to 64904 Cr which is increased up to 35 percent . Chief Minister said that there was no-covid pandemic in the Congress rule despite the fact it was never indulged in whooping debt. Replying to the allegation of Congress members including leader of Opposition that total borrowing increased to Rs. 85000 Cr he said that members are not speaking on the facts and figures. However Congress member challenged the Chief Minister to come up with the white paper on the state finances. Defending the charges of members that BJP government could not reduce the burden of debt on the state Chief Minister said that during Prime minister visit  to Himachal it is responsibility of state to spend on the public meetings of prime minister as he  dedicated and unveil number of national projects  to state. Ram Lal Thakur said that state Government spends Rs. 100 Crore through Public Relation department after taking 1500 Crore loan for universal development in the state. He said that before 2017 BJP promised to reduce the burden of debt on the state coffers but it increased due to spend thrift of the Government as money was spend from state coffer to organized BJP meeting where party flags are being displayed. Congress members said that BJP made promise to people that the state which is reeling under burden of debt to be made debt free however why government is still indulged in whooping lending.
