International Women’s Day celebrated in Degree College Chail Koti

 International Women’s Day celebration was celebrated at Government College Chail Koti on Wednesday. Under the joint aegis of Red Ribbon Club and NSS, students highlighted the struggle of women since time immemorial through various activities. On this occasion, speech competition, slogan writing and poster competitions were also organized. In the speech competition, Muskaan stood first, Priyanka stood second and Rishika stood third. Nehal got first place in poster making competition. In slogan writing, Sonakshi stood first, Priya and Roshni stood second and third respectively. NSS NSS volunteers depicted the discrimination and oppression of women in the society through street plays and gave the message of empowering women. Red Ribbon Club gave the message of Women’s Day by forming a human chain. NSS volunteers gave the message of cleanliness by cleaning the college premises on Women’s Day.
Principal Dr. Deepshikha Bhardwaj, who presided over the program, gave the message to the students to be aware of their rights and duties on Women’s Day. He said that in the present context, women are coming out of the four walls of conservatism and ensuring their participation in the mainstream of the society, as a result of which many women are doing commendable work by occupying high positions in the country and the state.
Program coordinator Prof. Bobija presented with great detail the layers of men’s mentality hidden behind the historical discrimination and oppression of women. Apart from this, Dr. Devendra Sharma exposed the ideology of patriarchy in the society and called upon women to increase their struggle for their rights and respect.
In the program, apart from Dr. Subhash Kapta, Dr. Kamini Shandil, Dr. Ajay Kayath, Dr. Amrit Mehta, Prof. IP Negi, Dr. Devendra Sharma, Dr. Sushil Mehta, Prof. Harinder Thakur, Prof. Bobija, Naresh Sharma, Prem Sharma, Y.D. College students including Sharma were present.
