IIM Sirmaur Conducted MDP for the officials from the Indian Oil Corporation

A 2-day management development program for the officials from Indian Oil Corporation was
organized by the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur from 26th to 27th February 2024. The
title of the program was “Finance for Non-Finance Managers”. The program saw
participation from officials from Indian Oil officials across the country. The program was
aimed at enriching the finance-related skills of the participants.
The director, IIM Sirmaur Prof. Prafulla Agnihotri, inaugurated the session and recollected
his decades-old association with Indian Oil. He highlighted the importance of developing
employees and effective leadership for the long-term success of corporations. Prof. P. Sanjay,
The Program Director and Prof. Ashish Goel were the faculties who facilitated the sessions on
behalf of IIM Sirmaur.
Broadly, the sessions were geared towards helping managers develop the right skill set in
finance. The sessions included topics such as Understanding Financial Statements, Financial
Analysis and Managing Working Capital and Managing Risks, Management Accounting and
Budgeting, Evaluating Investments and Valuation, Financial Management and Decision
Making, Commercial Project Management and Taxes and Personal Finance. Prof. P. Sanjay,
the Program Director commented that the program witnessed active participation from Indian
Oil officials which added to the success of the program.
Mr. Brajesh Jha, Senior Manager, Learning and Development of Indian Oil mentioned that
the program provided excellent insights and added value to the overall learning pursuit of the
Indian Oil officials.
