Horticulture Minister to organise awareness camps in rural areas on demand of farmers

On the demand of farmers and gardeners, awareness camps will be organized in rural areas so that farmers and gardeners can do gardening with the latest technology. Horticulture and Revenue Minister HP Jagat Singh Negi was addressing the farmers at a program organized in Ambedkar Hall of Rajgarh on Saturday to solve the problems related to agriculture and horticulture. Earlier, the Horticulture Minister also inaugurated the new office of HPMC in Rajgarh.
He said that most of the horticulture experts in the department are working in offices and now they will have to go to the field and solve the problems of the gardeners. He told that Rajgarh region was known as Peach Valley in the country, but currently due to Phytoplasma disease, peach gardening is coming to an end. Not only this, farmers are facing huge losses due to diseases in crops like apple, garlic etc., which is a matter of concern. He urged the farmers to communicate directly with the department’s experts in case of any problem in horticulture and agriculture. Apart from this, the services of experts from Horticulture and Forestry University should also be taken.
The Horticulture Minister stated that under the Shiva Project in Sirmaur district, a target of ₹73 crore has been set to plant 1.5 lakh fruit trees across 188 hectares of land. Of this, 58 hectares have already been covered. He stated that 24 clusters have been formed in Sirmaur district to effectively implement this project. The Minister also stated that Dimber Panchayat of Rajgarh is also proposed to be included in this project. He stated that a minimum of three hectares of land is required for this project, and if more than 100 bighas of land are included in the cluster, the department will make all necessary arrangements for irrigation water, plants, and flood protection.
Jagat Singh Negi stated that families who have been cultivating government land for the past three generations can present their claims to the Forest Rights Act Committee, for which the government has made provisions to regularize a maximum of 50 bighas of land. He informed that 26 families in Shillai, Sirmaur district, will be granted land pattas under the FRA.
Earlier, former Assembly Speaker GR Musafir informed the Horticulture Minister about the diseases affecting peach, apple and garlic in Rajgarh and requested him to take necessary steps for their diagnosis.
On this occasion, former Zilla Parishad President Dayal Pyari also expressed his views and expressed gratitude for opening the HPMC office in Rajgarh.
SDM Rajgarh Rajkumar Thakur, DSP BC Negi, Congress officials Randhir Panwar, Pariksha Chauhan, Sundar Singh Thakur, Dinesh Arya, former Nagar Panchayat President Jyoti Sahni, Sunil Sharma, Vikram Thakur, Rajkumar, Surendra Tomar, Vikram Jaildar, besides officials from the Horticulture Department and other departments were present in the program.
