Himachal’s Rising Stars Eye IPL Glory: 8 Players Shortlisted for Auction

The stage is set for the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the player auction scheduled this Sunday and Monday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This time, Himachal Pradesh is making waves, as eight of its cricketers have been shortlisted for the auction. These include seasoned players like Rishi Dhawan, Vaibhav Arora, Sumit Verma, Arpit Guleria, Mayank Dagar, Pankaj Jaswal, and Akash Vashisht, alongside newcomer Divesh Sharma, who is set to make his IPL auction debut.

Vaibhav Arora, who had an impressive stint with Kolkata Knight Riders last season, is among the top picks. Arpit Guleria, another standout performer, was part of the Lucknow Super Giants squad last year. However, all eyes will be on Divesh Sharma, a young and talented bowler who earned his spot in the auction with exceptional performances in the Ranji Trophy. His debut in the IPL auction has already generated buzz, with team owners reportedly keeping a close watch on him.

Avenesh Parmar, Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), expressed pride in the state’s representation. “It’s a proud moment for Himachal cricket. While players like Rishi Dhawan and Vaibhav Arora have already proven their mettle in the IPL, this year is special as emerging talents like Divesh Sharma are stepping into the limelight,” he said.

As the countdown to the IPL auction begins, cricket fans in Himachal Pradesh are hopeful that their local heroes will shine on the grand stage. With a mix of experienced players and fresh talent, the state’s cricketing future looks brighter than ever.
