Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti celebrated the foundation day of the National Literacy Mission

The 37th Foundation Day of National Literacy Mission Authority was celebrated under the joint aegis of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, State Resource Center and Jan Swasthya Abhiyaan. State Secretary of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Satyawan Pundir said that National Literacy Mission was established on May 5, 1988 to conduct complete literacy campaign in the country. Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, the national wing of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, has been an important part of the literacy mission, contributing to creating an environment for literacy across the country and preparing training material for the campaign.
On this occasion, personal hygiene was discussed in the public health center established in the office of the committee, in which Dr. Amit Sachdeva from IGMC discussed the importance and methods of hand washing. Dr. Sachdeva also conducted health checkup of the people.
Tributes were also paid to Pankaj, a great personality associated with public health campaign. Apart from Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, members of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan, Himachal Pradesh Medical Representative Association, Janwadi Naujawan Sabha, Bal Manch, Gudiya Nyaya Manch, AIDWA, Beti Bachao Abhiyan were among those who paid tribute.
