High reaches of Himachal receives season 1st Major snowfall, Incessant rainfall intensify cold wave

High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced first major snowfall along with incessant rainfall in downstream area of state intensified the cold wave condition. Public Relations spokesperson of Kaza Mr Ajay Benyal said that Losar and Chchim village of Spiti Subdivision got first major snowfall as dark clouds are hovering the others lofty mountains also receiving moderate snowfall in other parts of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnuar and Chamba district. Minimum temperature at Kaza recorded below freezing point and district headquarter Keylong three degrees. The low lines area all over state also recorded incessant heavy rain which is continue since last night. In Kangra district  Guler(heritage village) recorded 81.5 mm rain Dharamshala:81.3 mm Gohar(Mandi) & Paonta Sahib(Sirmaur): 80 mm each. Indian Metalogical Department forecast that light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm likely to continue in the districts of Sirmaur , Solan , Shimla , Bilaspur , Mandi , Hamirpur , Kulli , Lahaul – Spiti , Kinnaur and adjoining areas with low visibility conditions. Heavy rainfall likely in the districts of Sirmaur , Solan , Shimla , Bilaspur and Mandi. Met office said that Snowfall Likely to occur in the high reaches of Lahaul – Spiti . Kinnaur. Weather likely to become clear after three hours.
