Governor Shukla participates in a three-day International Conference at IIAS

Indian literature and science has the potential to guide the whole world, on which our scholars need research, stated Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on the occasion of a three-day international conference organized at the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS) Shimla today. Scholars from all over the country participated in this conference organized on the theme ‘In the cause of literature and science; learned societies of modern India’.

The IIAS is a seat of research and higher learning for scholars from India and abroad who have been doing advanced research work in the field of humanities and social sciences since its inception.

The learned societies of modern India including various vernacular societies are playing an important role in the development of science and literature, said Sh. Shukla. It is evident that India has scaled new heights due to advancements in science and is known worldwide for its rich cultural heritage and ancient scriptures.  Due to the country’s cultural, economic and spiritual prosperity, a large number of foreigners were attracted towards India since times immemorial.

The Governor said that it is a matter of pride that Indian culture, customs and traditions were being followed globally and we need to preserve it and hand it over to the coming generations. It is the responsibility of all of us to guide the new generation by registering their participation in the preservation and promotion of Indian cultural heritage. He said that at present under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on the path of becoming a superpower and regaining its glory.

On this occasion, the Governor also planted a sapling.

The Governor also released a book ‘Nirguna Bhakti in Eastern India’ written by Prof. Dambarudhan Nath on the occasion.

National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, New Delhi, Dr. Atul Kothari detailed factual evidence of distortion of the rich Indian culture and history before and after independence. He said that foreign renowned historians have presented surprising facts about the all-round development of ancient India about three thousand years ago.

Director of IIAS Shimla, Prof. Nageshwar Rao detailed about the institute.

The Chairperson of the institute Prof. Shashiprabha Kumar addressed the gathering virtually.

Secretary to the Governor Rajesh Sharma, Fellow and Program Coordinator Mehar Chand Negi, Dr. Siddharth Satyarthi and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion amongst others.
