These schools will provide holistic education from pre-primary to Class XII and will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including smart classrooms, playgrounds, indoor stadiums, swimming pools and other modern facilities. The initiative forms a key part of the education reforms being undertaken by the state government to strengthen the quality of education in Himachal Pradesh.

Since assuming office, the government led by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has launched several initiatives aimed at improving educational standards. As part of these reforms, the Education Department has been restructured with the establishment of the Directorate of School Education and the Directorate of Higher Education.

Teachers from government schools are being sent abroad on exposure visits to study international education systems and adopt best practices in schools across the state. Meritorious students of government schools have also been provided opportunities to undertake foreign educational tours.

The Chief Minister said that the government was filling teaching posts on a priority basis to ensure that studies are not affected due to shortage of teachers. Additionally, 156 schools in the state are being affiliated with the CBSE curriculum, with Arts, Science and Commerce streams being introduced in these institutions.

Due to the consistent efforts of the state government, Himachal Pradesh has secured the 6th position in the country in providing quality school education, according to the Performance Grading Index 2.0 report released by the Ministry of Education.
