Double murder case : Police detain two persons
OVER a week after the recovery of bodies of two women near Chakki – Ka- Mod on Kalka- Shimla national highway, the police today detained two persons, suspected to be killers, for questioning at Parwanoo in Solan district.
The accused persons namely Jtender Singh, resident of Kharad in Mohali district of Punjab and Dinesh Kumar, resident of Manguwal in Ropar district of Punjab were detained following CCTV footage. the car used in the crime has also been impounded.
The Special investigation Team (SIT) led by Parwanoo DY. SP Yogesh Rolta following checking the footage of CCTV, installed on inter state barrier detected a Tata Vista car entering Himachal but returned within a short period.
SP Virender Sharma said that this raised a pin of suspicion on the persons and SIT after gathering information from registration and licensing authorities of both district detained duo for further questioning.
notably, the Parwanoo police had recovered unidentified bodies of two women wrapped in bed sheets along the Kalka- Shimla national highway near Koti village under Parwanoo police station in this district, on February 3.The bodies were first spotted by a ragpicker who had gone down the highway to collect the salvage material on Wednesday evening. As soon as he reached the spot he got suspicious and intimated the roadside vendors about the two wrapped bodies. The vendor further informed local panchayat Pardhan who than immediately informed the Parwanoo police had sent the bodies for autopsy to IGMC Shimla.
Later, the deceased were identified as Nisha Devi (27), residnet o Una and Geeta (31) of Bathinda in Punjab. A case was also registered in this connection. He said that with the detention of two Punjab residnets, the investigationg team was hopeful of solving the murder mystery by Saturday.
