Department of Horticulture showcases premium garden products at World Food India- 2025

Premium horticultural products from the Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Department have distinguished themselves at the ongoing World Food India 2025 festival in Delhi, a major global event in the food processing sector. World Food India 2025 was held from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Director Horticulture, Himachal Pradesh, Vinay Singh, said that this mega event, now in its fourth edition, brings together global stakeholders to position India as a hub for food innovation, investment, and sustainability. With over 1,700 exhibitors, 500+ international buyers, and delegates from 100+ countries, Himachal Pradesh had a high-level opportunity to showcase its premium horticultural produce and value-added products.
He said that the Himachal Pradesh exhibition at this pavilion was a major attraction for exhibitors from India and abroad. The pavilion showcased the state’s distinctive and high-quality produce, renowned for its nutrition and long shelf life. Key products included Himalayan Honey and Apple Juice from the Horticulture Department, Apples Royal Delicious, Golden Delicious (Shalkhar, Kinnaur), Royal Delicious, Golden Delicious, Royal Gala, Granny Smith (Anita Orchard, Sheladesh, Natural Farming), Persimmon (Fuyu) from Phungani Farm, Vishal Thakur, Kullu, Pomegranate and Sweet Orange from HP Shiva Cluster, Bilaspur, Dragon Fruit from Front Line Demo Orchard, Kangra, Kiwi from Dr. Karan Thakur Farm, Dharo Ki Dhar, Solan, Exotic Capsicum (Red and Yellow) from Rajgarh, Sirmaur, Red Rice from Peja Area, Chirgaon, Shimla.
Director Vinay Singh led the delegation to various stalls, accompanied by Dr. Kamalsheel Negi, Joint Director, Horticulture; Dr. Prabal Thakur, Senior Marketing Officer; Dr. Sameep Singh Rana, SMS (Horticulture) and Project and Planning Incharge; Dr. Kushal Singh Mehta, MS (Horticulture), Shimla; Dr. Rajesh Bagta, HDO, Fruit Canning Unit, Shimla; Dr. Arvind Gautam, HDO, Bilaspur; Dr. Naveen Chalain, HDO, Jubbal and Kotkhai; Dr. Suresh Chajta, HEO, Jubbal; and 10 progressive farmers from Shimla district, who gained experience in international quality, branding, and packaging standards. The delegation visited international pavilions, including those in New Zealand and Japan, to study global standards to make Himachal products export-competitive.
