Demand for 30 days booking of LPG in rural areas

In rural areas, there is a demand to reduce the 45-day cooking gas booking period to 30 days. Rakesh Kumar, Nek Ram, Pritam Thakur, Manohar Singh, Jai Ram, and many others from Junga tehsil say that the government has increased the price of cooking gas, while also extending the booking period from 30 to 45 days, meaning that rural residents are facing a double whammy.
They say that there is currently a shortage of firewood in rural areas. Due to the availability of cooking gas, people have even stopped collecting fuelwood. On the other hand, in rural areas, most families live jointly where a cooking gas cylinder barely lasts for 20 to 25 days. Due to the 45-day period set for booking cooking gas, many families are facing a problem of cooking gas. Especially the employees who are serving in rural areas are facing a lot of problems due to the lack of cooking gas. Whereas there are no hotels or dhabas in the rural areas.
People say that the growing shortage of cooking gas will increase pressure on forests and disrupt the ecological balance. However, sufficient quantities of cooking gas are available at the Hill Top Gas Agency in Koti, which distributes cooking gas cylinders throughout the region once a month. Residents have demanded that the government ensure monthly distribution of cooking gas cylinders, as before, so that people can live comfortably.
Food and Supply Inspector Ranjana Sood said that the period for booking LPG after 45 days has been fixed by the Government of India and only they can reduce it.
