Defamation case against former Himachal chief minister withdrawn

A defamation case filed against former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal was withdrawn by the complainant as the matter was pending before a single bench of Himachal Pradesh High court.
Former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had filed a criminal defamation case against Prem Kumar Dhumal, Arun Dhumal and Anurag Thakur in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Shimla.

Mr Dhumal have moved in  Himachal Pradesh High court alleging that  Defamation case have already withdrawn against Former Union Finance Minister (late) Arun Jaitley but complainant decided to continue thus case against him.
It is worth mentioning that Prem Kumar Dhumal and others had challenged the summoning orders issued by the lower court in this criminal defamation case filed against them before the High Court.
Now this matter was pending before the single bench of court of Justice Vivek Singh Thakur. 
Proceedings of this had stayed by the HC hearing of the ongoing defamation case against Prem Kumar Dhumal. 
According to the case, the appellant Virbhadra Singh had filed a criminal defamation case against Prem Kumar Dhumal and Arun Jaitley, but on 27 May 2014, he withdrew the case only against Arun Jaitley. 
 Thereafter CJM Shimla summoned the defendants on 26.9.2014 on behalf of Virbhadra Singh after recording the preliminary statements of the witnesses in the case.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who has been accused of favoring a private firm, had filed defamation cases against BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Prem Kumar Dhumal.
Mr Singh also named Mr Dhumal’s son Anurag Thakur in a case that accuses these leaders of dragging his name.
Mr Singh recently passed away after prolonged illnesses at Shimla and his Son Mr Vikramdittya Singh have filled the an affidavit before the high court that complaint has been withdrawn before the CJM court.
