
Crowds gathered at the general meeting of the newly formed Gram Panchayat Dhali
The general assembly meeting of the newly formed Gram Panchayat Dhali of Junga tehsil was held in the Gram Panchayat Peeran building. The meeting was chaired by Panchayat Pradhan Anokhi Ram. Panchayat Secretary Rajiv Thakur opened the meeting by welcoming the villagers present and presenting various Panchayat agendas to the Gram Sabha. Rajiv Thakur stated that 123 people attended the meeting, against the 60-member quorum set for the Gram Sabha, reflecting the public’s awareness and enthusiasm for the new Panchayat. The Gram Sabha unanimously passed a proposal to construct a new Panchayat building near the Government High School, Dhali. Additionally, a proposal to develop a playground to promote community and sports activities was also passed by voice vote.
It’s worth noting that after the formation of the new Panchayat, the residents of Dhali Panchayat have to travel approximately 15 kilometers to Piran to attend Panchayat meetings. Pradhan Anokhi Ram explained that the new Dhali Panchayat was formed after the dissolution of the Gram Panchayat Piran. Due to the Panchayat’s lack of its own building, representatives and villagers have to travel to Piran for each meeting.
He stated that there is tremendous enthusiasm among the people regarding the new Panchayat. Villagers from Thund, Dhali, Bagda, and other areas are arriving in large numbers to attend meetings in private vehicles. He stated that the construction of the Panchayat building is his priority, so that Panchayat representatives can effectively advance development work in the area. Furthermore, despite limited resources, the overall development of the Panchayat will be prioritized.
A large number of villagers from the Panchayat area including Deputy Pradhan Devendra Sharma, Ward Member Om Prakash, Rekha Devi, Devendra Kumari, Shyam Lal, Pushpa Devi participated in the meeting.
