CPI(M) seeks criminal case against Adani’s group for shuting down cement factories illegally

Communist Party of India-Marxist has strongly condemned the sudden closure of Barmana and Ambuja Cement Plant in Bilaspur district by Adani Group last evening and demanded the government to register a criminal case against this company. Party secretary of the local committee and former district councilor Bhupinder Singh said that all this is the result of the policies of privatization being implemented by the central government. The sudden closure of these factories has created a crisis in the jobs of thousands of employees and laborers working in them.  Along with this, the employment of thousands of trucks engaged in the transportation of cement and the employees working in them will also be lost. Bhupendra Singh said that the central government has given freedom to its industrialist friends to take such a step without any prior information and notice.  He said that the Adani group which has become the richest industrialist in the world in the last five years and had bought these two cement factories some time ago, has increased the price of cement by Rs 200 per bag in the last two years.  He said that cement price was increased  five hundred rupees per beg even on the day of formation of the present new government.  But now suddenly they have put notice of closure of these factories and have ordered all the employees not to come to work from today. Bhupendra Singh said that the government should file a case against this company.  He demanded the government to press the Corporate house to start the factory as group is deliberately violating the factory law and labour laws, so action should be taken against them . He has also described it as funny in which he has said that these factories were running at a loss, so they have been shut down. He has raised questions that how a factory which were profitable some time ago, have suddenly became unprofitable , the moment BJP government was out of power in the state. This also indicates that the said group was scummbing to politics at the behest of the Modi government.
