Countless fire accidents, but the government is silent: Randhir

BJP MLA from Naina Devi Randhir Sharma said that countless fire accidents are happening continuously in Himachal Pradesh but the government is silent, it seems that the government is not doing anything. Nothing happens just by giving statements during Chavan. One has to work on the ground, assess the situation and then provide relief to the victims, something like this was not seen in Himachal Pradesh.

He said that such a situation was seen in Himachal Pradesh where 62 cases of forest fires were reported in 24 hours. You can imagine how serious the situation would be. But the question is what did the government do? The Chief Minister was busy saving his government, the advisors his chair and the leaders his image.

In these cases of fire, forest wealth has been reduced to ashes in more than 744 hectares. In the current financial year, a total of 1,828 incidents of forest fires have been recorded so far. In one day, the maximum number of 21 cases of fire have been reported in Mandi forest circle. Apart from this, seven cases of fire have been reported in Solan, seven in Nahan, nine in Dharamshala, nine in Hamirpur, one in Bilaspur and five in Wild Life. In Solan circle, the maximum forest wealth of 207 hectares has been reduced to ashes. Apart from this, 125 hectares in Wild Life, 148 hectares in Mandi, 138 hectares in Hamirpur, 92 hectares in Dharamshala, 12 hectares in Chamba, two hectares in Bilaspur and 20 hectares in Nahan have been reduced to ashes. According to the data of the Forest Department, about 19 thousand hectares of forest have been affected by fire since April 1.

He said that so many government offices were burnt in Himachal Pradesh. The fire reached even the primary schools, IPS subdivisions, PWD offices were burnt to ashes but what did the government do? This is a serious issue and the government should answer on this.
