Closing educational institutions and Him care facilities is not logical: Prem Thakur
District Shimla BJP President Prem Thakur in a statement issued on Tuesday has termed the decision taken by the cabinet of Sukhu government of the state as Tughlaqi Farman in which it has been decided to close 99 primary and middle schools and Himcare facility of the state. District BJP President said that ever since the Congress government has come to power in the state, this government has done nothing except closing government offices and government institutions. He said that Sukhu government has crossed the limit of closing government institutions when the order was issued to close 89 primary schools and 10 middle schools opened for the education of small children and no arrangement has been made to send these children to other schools.
He said that the Sukhu government does not know that a 4-year-old child can walk 2-3 kilometers to get primary education in hilly rural areas. He said that these schools were opened by the previous governments in difficult and inaccessible areas on the demand of the common people to provide education to children at their doorsteps, which have now been closed by the Congress government without thinking.
Prem Thakkur said that the previous BJP government had started Himcare service to provide free health care to people of all classes, but the Sukhu government has stopped this facility in private hospitals, due to which the poor and middle class people have been affected. He has strongly opposed the closure of Himcare and has demanded the government to restart it.
