Children from Dublu School learn automotive technology
A three-day on-the-job training program on automotive topics was organized for students from the Government Senior Secondary School, Dublu, at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Junga. A total of 37 students from the Dublu school (13 girls and 24 boys) participated in the training camp. The students received 20 hours of training.
Automotive teacher Ajay Kanwar explained that the training aims to provide students with practical experience alongside classroom instruction, so they can be better prepared for future employment. During the training, students were trained in vehicle servicing, maintenance, and technical tasks. They were also briefed on the use of modern equipment and the intricacies of vehicle repair.
Singh, Vocational Coordinator and Political Science Lecturer, explained that this training was organized with the children’s skills development in mind, so that they could gain practical knowledge related to their subject and gain better employment opportunities in the future, which is also a part of Skill India and Self-Reliant India.
Kapil Sharma, the school’s acting principal, stated that on-the-job training boosts children’s self-confidence. He added that the discipline with which the children completed their three-day training was also praised by the ITI Junga administration.
