CEO, CS & DGP hold election meeting at Reckong PeoAppeal Rarang villagers to not boycott bye election

Chief Electoral Officer, Chief Secretary andDGP held a review meeting of election arrangements made in view of the bye-elections in tribal areas and to ensure high turnoutin snowbound areas and to make special arrangements in wake of snowfall in certain pockets.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singhat Reckong Peo, district headquarter of Kinnuar it was also attended by Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu, Chief Electoral Officer C. Palrasu, General Supervisor posted for Kinnaur Assembly Constituency Dr.  Sanjay Goyal and District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan was present.
 The Chief Secretary received information about the arrangements made by the district administration regarding the by-elections and directed to ensure strict compliance of all the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.  
He also directed to further increase the patrolling of various squads deployed during the night under Kinnaur assembly constituency.  He said that a close watch should also be kept on the various inducements given to the voters during the elections.  
He directed to keep a close watch on the vehicles coming into the district, especially those coming from outside states.

 The Chief Secretary expressed satisfaction over the election arrangements made by the district administration.
 Ram Subhag Singh said that the main objective of today’s visit was to get information about the election arrangements made by the district administration and police administration in the remote tribal district Kinnaur and the preparations made to deal with the challenges faced during the elections.
 He said that if there is snowfall during the election, then all preparations have been made by the district administration and such places have been identified.  He said that all arrangements for transportation have been made to take the polling parties to their destinations.
 He said that state government and army helicopters are also ready to help if required.  He urged all the voters of the district to exercise their franchise without any fear and inducement.
 Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu received information about the security arrangements made for the elections.  He instructed to conduct thorough checking during the nakas and also keep a close watch on anti-social elements.
 Chief Electoral Officer C. Palrasu instructed all the officers engaged in election work to work according to the rules issued by the Election Commission of India.
 District Election Officer Apoorva Devgan informed that a total of 57,728 voters in the district will be able to exercise their franchise in the by-election of Mandi parliamentary constituency. 
He said that 129 polling stations have been set up for this, including 3 auxiliary polling stations.  He said that all the officers and staff deployed in the election process have been trained and on October 28, 2021, all the polling parties will leave for their respective destinations.
 After the meeting, CS, DGP and CEO along with district officials inspected the counting center and strong room.
 Assistant Returning Officer Swati Dogra and officers of the Election Department were also present in the meeting.
 After this, the CS, DGP and CEO also visited Pangi area of Chamba district and took stock of the election arrangements made for the bye-election of Mandi parliamentary constituency there.
CS expressed satisfaction over the preparations made for the bye-election.  He also directed the Public Works Department to keep the road system smooth.
 Chief Electoral Officer C. Palarasu directed the local administration to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission of India in letter and spirit.  He also directed to ensure cent percent distribution of voter slips and make proper arrangements for lodging and lodging of polling personnel in view of snowfall in the valley.
 The residential commissioner, Pangi, Balwan Chand gave information related to the election arrangements.  He informed that a total of 37 polling stations have been set up in Pangi area, out of which 2 are auxiliary polling stations.  A total of 14,018 voters will be able to exercise their franchise here, including 7,259 male and 6,759 female voters.
 SDM Pangi Rajneesh Sharma, Election Kanungo Purna Chand and office presidents of other departments were also present in the meeting.
