On the death anniversary of Constitution maker Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, party leaders paid their tributes to his portrait at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan today.
State Congress President Shri Renuka Ji MLA Vinay Kumar said on this occasion that today is not just a day to remember a great man, but a day to remember those ideals, those struggles and that vision which gave direction to the foundation of modern India.
Baba Saheb Ambedkar, whose name itself embodies the message of struggle, education, respect, equality, and justice, lived a life filled with hardships. He endured discrimination and social restrictions, yet he never lost his courage.
Vinay Kumar said that Baba Saheb’s call to “Educate, Organize, and Struggle” wasn’t just a slogan, but a life-changing message for millions of Indians. He added that we are fortunate that the Indian Constitution was drafted under the leadership of such a great leader, who prioritized the rights, dignity, and equality of every citizen. Even today, when we talk about social equality, education, economic opportunity, and justice in India, Baba Saheb’s teachings guide us. He said that when a disadvantaged group progresses, it is a victory of Baba Saheb’s struggle. When a child builds their life through education, it is the fulfillment of Baba Saheb’s dreams. When a citizen gains equal rights, it is a triumph of Baba Saheb’s vision.
He said that today we must look within ourselves and ask whether we have been able to build a society in accordance with his ideas, whether we are providing equal opportunities to every individual, whether we are moving towards an India free from discrimination. He said that today, on his death anniversary, we must take a pledge that we will eliminate all forms of discrimination from society. We will protect the dignity and values of the Constitution. We will make education, equality, and justice our priority. We will build the India that Baba Saheb dreamed of – an egalitarian, progressive, and just India.

The BJP is tearing apart the Constitution; everyone must come together to protect it; Vinay Kumar
In an informal conversation with journalists, Vinay Kumar said that today we must come forward to protect the country’s Constitution. He said that the way the BJP-led NDA government at the center is tearing the Constitution to shreds is very unfortunate.
Vinay Kumar expressed his gratitude to Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, saying that he has entrusted the important leadership of the state Congress to a party worker from the Dalit community. He stated that district and block presidents would be appointed soon, followed by the formation of a state executive committee. He stated that the executive committee would give full priority to women and youth, and that it would be formed in light of the 2027 state assembly elections. He stated that whenever the government decides to hold Panchayat elections, Congress will contest them with strength. In response to a question, he said that the BJP, which is mired in internal strife and factionalism, should focus on its own interests. He stated that the Congress government in the state is in a very strong position, and that the government and the organization are working in complete coordination.
