Attack on woman candidate for the post of head of Naldhera Panchayat

A case of attack on a woman candidate for the post of Panchayat Pradhan has come to light in the Sunni police station area during the Panchayat elections.

Based on the woman’s complaint, police have registered a case against unknown individuals and launched an investigation. In the complaint, Sushma Devi, a resident of

Village Tikkar, Post Office Durgapur, Tehsil and Police Station Sunni told that he had filled the form for the post of Pradhan in Naldhera Panchayat and for the post of BDC on 7th and 8th May.

On the morning of May 15, he withdrew his nomination for the BDC. At 2:30 pm on Saturday, he had filed his nomination for the post of Panchayat Pradhan.

After submitting the application, she was on her way to the Panchayat House in Naldhera to retrieve it. During this time, two men emerged from the bushes on the road in Durgapur, about 100 meters from her home.

Both men had cloth covering their faces and were wearing blue plastic shoes. They attacked the woman, threatened her, and fled.

The woman fell unconscious due to the attack. Around 3:30 in the afternoon, she regained consciousness when she received a call from Yograj, a resident of Barog village. He informed her about the incident. She was then taken to Mashobra Hospital for treatment. ASP Abhishek said a case has been registered and an investigation has begun.
