Rozgar Setu Opens New Doors for Himachal Youth

Over 26,000 Students Linked to Job Opportunities

The Himachal Pradesh government is strengthening the bridge between education and employment by equipping young people with industry-relevant skills, digital tools and global exposure. As technology continues to evolve rapidly, particularly with the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the state is focusing on preparing students for future careers through a combination of technical education, practical training and skill development initiatives.

A major step in this direction is the launch of the Takniki Rozgar Setu Portal, a digital platform designed to connect students, educational institutions and employers. The portal allows students to create professional profiles, upload certificates, showcase their skills and apply for jobs online while tracking their placement progress.

The platform has already seen strong participation, with 164 technical institutions, 26,168 students and 97 employers registered. These include ITIs, polytechnic institutes, engineering colleges and pharmacy colleges from across the state. More than 23,000 students have completed skill mapping, enabling institutions and employers to better understand their capabilities and training needs. The portal is also expected to benefit skilled workers such as electricians and plumbers by helping them access short-term employment opportunities. For employers, it offers a streamlined recruitment process and easier access to trained candidates.

Beyond employment support, the state government is exposing students to international learning experiences. In a unique initiative, 30 ITI trainees from Himachal visited Almaty, Kazakhstan, where they observed industrial operations and modern manufacturing practices at leading facilities. The exposure provided valuable insights into workplace systems, production techniques and global industry standards.

Similarly, 44 meritorious engineering students were taken on an educational tour of Japan. During the visit, they explored renowned institutions and industries, including the Tokyo Metropolitan University, JAXA Tsukuba Space Center, Cyberdyne Robotics Studio and several advanced manufacturing units. The students gained hands-on exposure to cutting-edge developments in robotics, aerospace, space technology and modern transportation systems while also participating in cultural exchange activities.

To strengthen technical education infrastructure at home, the state government has released ₹35.34 crore for engineering colleges, polytechnic institutes and ITIs across Himachal Pradesh. The funding will support the modernization of institutions and improve learning facilities for students.

The government is also encouraging vocational education, innovation, start-up culture and soft-skill development to ensure that young people are not only job-ready but also capable of creating opportunities for themselves through entrepreneurship.

By combining technology-driven recruitment, industry-focused education, upgraded infrastructure and global exposure, Himachal Pradesh is working toward building a highly skilled workforce. These initiatives are expected to generate greater employment opportunities, boost innovation and strengthen the state’s technical and industrial growth in the years ahead.
