Free coaching camp completed at 1st Armed Police Battalion Junga

A month-long free coaching and physical training camp for youth preparing for police recruitment at the 1st Armed Police Battalion, Junga, concluded successfully on Thursday. 468 trainees, including 310 boys and 158 girls, from various districts of Himachal Pradesh, received training at the camp. Free accommodation and food were provided to all trainees.
Commandant of the 1st HPAP Battalion, Bhupinder Singh Negi, said that the objective of this camp was to provide a free platform to the youth from remote areas of the state, including local ones, especially those coming from economically weaker families, for better preparation for police recruitment. He said that in the one-month long camp, the trainees were given indoor coaching in general knowledge, mathematics, reasoning, Hindi and English subjects. While during the outdoor training, special attention was given to running, physical efficiency, prescribed physical standards for police recruitment and discipline.
He explained that the battalion’s officers and staff, as well as the people of Shimla and Junga, volunteered to provide free food and lodging to all trainees. Bobby, who runs a free langar at the IGMC Cancer Hospital, also played a significant role in this arrangement.
The commander stated that free medical checkups and first aid were also provided if any trainee sustained an injury or health problem during the training. He added that this initiative also benefited shopkeepers and small businesses in Junga City.
On the closing occasion, the trainees expressed their gratitude to the officers and staff of the 1st HPAP Battalion and said that getting free coaching, physical training, food, accommodation and medical facilities at one place was very beneficial for them.
