Himachal Pradesh High Court Gets Three New Judges

In a significant development for the judiciary in Himachal Pradesh, the Central Government has appointed three judicial officers to the Himachal Pradesh High Court. The appointments are expected to strengthen the functioning of the High Court and help improve the delivery of justice in the state.

The Ministry of Law and Justice has appointed Chirag Bhanu Singh as a Judge, while Bhupesh Sharma and Yogesh Jaswal have been appointed as Additional Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointments on social media platform X, stating that the President of India made the appointments after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.

The appointments follow recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium during its meeting on 2 June 2026, where the three judicial officers were proposed for elevation to the High Court.

The move is being seen as an important step towards bolstering the state’s judicial system and ensuring the timely disposal of cases before the High Court.
