CM Sukhu’s Independence Day Message to Reach Every Corner of Himachal
As Himachal Pradesh prepares to celebrate the 79th Independence Day, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s message to the people of the state will be broadcast on the eve of Independence Day, giving citizens an opportunity to hear his thoughts and vision for the state’s future.
The Chief Minister’s address will be aired on All India Radio (AIR) Shimla on August 14, 2026, at 8:00 PM. The message will also be broadcast through FM Shimla, FM Hamirpur, FM Dharamshala, and all relay centres of AIR Shimla, ensuring wide outreach across the state.
On August 15, viewers can watch the Chief Minister’s message on Doordarshan Kendra, Shimla, at 9:30 AM, immediately after the address of the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
In another significant initiative, the state government has decided to live-stream the Chief Minister’s speech from the State-level Independence Day celebration at Barsar in Hamirpur district in schools across Himachal Pradesh.
According to a government spokesperson, the live telecast will enable students to directly connect with the state’s developmental vision and welfare initiatives. The initiative is aimed at helping young minds understand the government’s priorities, achievements, and future plans while fostering a greater sense of civic awareness and participation.
The move is expected to make Independence Day celebrations more engaging for students, allowing them to witness a key state event and hear firsthand about the roadmap for Himachal Pradesh’s progress.
