The Gram Sabha meeting could not be held in Peeran due to lack of quorum.
The Gram Sabha meeting in Piran Gram Panchayat, Junga Tehsil, could not be held due to a lack of quorum. Consequently, various issues referred by the government could not be discussed in the Gram Sabha. Panchayat Secretary Rajiv Thakur confirmed this. He stated that, as per government instructions, the minimum quorum for the Panchayat is 10th of the total number of voters. He added that the next Gram Sabha will be held on a date determined by the government, and the quorum must be 20th of the total number of voters. Some intellectuals in the Panchayat stated that most people are busy working on crops such as tomatoes, which is why the quorum could not be met. Some have demanded that the Panchayat administration should widely publicize the Gram Sabha meeting so that every family member can participate in this important meeting. Some pointed out that information posted on social media is only seen by a few people, and therefore, personal information should be provided via telephone. It should be noted that due to lack of information, many families are deprived of participating in the Gram Sabha meeting due to which the quorum is not complete and the development works of the Panchayat cannot be discussed.
