Teachers’ Union welcomed the positive decision of merit based appointment

The CBSE Sub-Cadre In-Service Teachers Association, Himachal Pradesh, has welcomed the positive decision taken by the Cabinet Sub-Committee regarding merit-based appointments in Himachal Pradesh’s government CBSE schools. The association has urged Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to expedite final approval and complete the appointment process.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the association’s state president, Khajan Singh Thakur, said that the agreement reached on a merit-based selection process is a historic and visionary step toward quality education in the state. He expressed confidence that the Chief Minister will soon take a final decision and complete this long-pending process. He said that merit-based selection will provide qualified and talented teachers with the opportunity to work in government CBSE schools, significantly improving the quality of education.
Expressing gratitude to Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Education Minister and all the members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, he said that this positive initiative has raised hopes of fulfilling the justified expectations of thousands of qualified teachers, students and parents.
Khajan Singh Thakur said the association also respects the sentiments of all teachers who may have to change their current workplace due to merit-based appointments. He added that some teachers may experience personal discomfort. A teacher’s highest responsibility is to work in the best interests of students, so such changes in the broader public interest should be accepted positively.
The union’s general secretary, Virendra Kumar, again urged the Chief Minister to expedite the final approval of his dream project of merit-based recruitment. He stated that the teachers selected on the merit list have earned their place through hard work, dedication, and competitiveness to make this ambitious government scheme a success. He expressed confidence that the teachers appointed on the basis of merit, starting in the next academic year, will prove the government’s decision right through their excellent academic results and will bring honor to Himachal Pradesh in the CBSE board exams across the country.
