Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is India’s eternal message to the world: Governor

Governor Kavinder Gupta participated in the Shiva-Shakti Mahakatha and Shiva Vivah Mahotsav organized by the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan in Shimla today. On this occasion, the Governor worshipped Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and all-round development of the people of the state.
Expressing his pleasure at participating in this spiritual event, the Governor said that such events play an important role in preserving India’s eternal cultural and spiritual heritage. He said that Sanatan Dharma is not just a religion, but a way of life based on eternal values such as compassion, harmony, and universal brotherhood. Referring to the ancient Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” he said that this ideal still shows humanity the path to peace, coexistence, and universal brotherhood.
The Governor said that the shift from joint families to nuclear families reflects social change, but this should not weaken family values, emotional bonds, and meaningful communication between family members. He said that the foundation of every family should be based on love, mutual respect, and dialogue.
Expressing concern over the growing drug addiction among youth, he said that while strict enforcement of the law is essential to eradicate this evil, the most effective means of preventing social ill effects is a cultured upbringing. He urged parents to spend time with their children, communicate openly with them, and connect them with India’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
The Governor called upon the society to collectively ensure that the youth are connected to India’s cultural heritage, family traditions and spiritual values.
