12870 children in Mashobra block will be given two drops of life : BMO
The target is to administer pulse polio drops to 12,870 young children in the Mashobra block on June 28. All necessary arrangements are in the final stages.
Block Medical Officer Mashobra informed that around 12870 children in the age group of 0 to 05 years have been identified in the rural areas of Mashobra Medical Block and 130 Pulse Polio booths will be set up in the rural areas to administer them Pulse Polio medicine. To make this campaign successful, the services of 502 employees and 25 supervisors will be taken which include Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, CHO, Health workers, employees of Ayurveda department will provide their services so that no child is deprived of taking Pulse Polio medicine.
The Block Development Officer (BMO) informed that four transit and four mobile teams have been formed to administer Pulse Polio vaccine at various bus stops, slums and at various barriers on the block’s border so that the medicine can be administered to small children travelling in buses and living in the slums of Kasumpti and Mahli. He informed that complete arrangements have been made for the Pulse Polio vaccine like deep freezer, cold box and carrier, ice cubes etc. so that this national program can be made successful.
He has requested all the Panchayat Pradhans, Women and Youth Clubs, Self Help Groups and all the parents to give their constructive cooperation in making this program successful and the families having children in the age group of 0 to 5 years should compulsorily take them to their nearest polio booth on 28th June and administer the medicine.
