In the junior category, Sanjivani of 8th class got first place, Srishti of 8th class got second place, and Trisha of 8th class got third place.
Presiding over the program, Principal Premchand Chauhan explained to the children that this day is celebrated to remind them of their responsibilities towards the Earth. Earth is not a planet but our home, so it is our responsibility to protect it.
Premchand Chauhan explained that on April 22, 1970, millions of people first raised their voices to protect the environment, and since 1990, this day has been celebrated globally every year. This year’s Earth Day theme is “Our Power, Our Planet.” This theme conveys the message that we should all make small efforts to save the Earth, which together can bring about a big change.
Eco Club in-charge Praveen Sharma explained that many serious problems have arisen on Earth today, such as climate change, global warming, pollution, and overexploitation of natural resources. The Earth’s temperature is gradually rising, causing glaciers to melt. Natural disasters and erratic rainfall have increased significantly. If we don’t act in time to save the Earth, it will become increasingly difficult to live on. Therefore, to save the Earth, we must plant as many forests as possible, avoid cutting down trees, stop using plastic, and conserve water and electricity.
