Block Medical Officer Mashobra Dr. Sanjay Ranaut said that on National Deworming Day, children were given Albendazole tablets in all 336 educational institutions, 265 Anganwadi centers and all health institutions of Mashobra block. This program was organized under the joint aegis of the Health Department, Education Department and Women and Child Development Department so that no eligible child is deprived of taking Albendazole medicine. He said that those children who are deprived of taking Albendazole medicine due to some reasons will be given the dose of Albendazole on 28th February.

To prevent this, the government provides Albendazole tablets to children between the ages of 1 and 19. He explained that vitamin A boosts children’s immunity. Vitamin A prevents night blindness and reduces the severity of infections. It is essential for children’s healthy development.
Dr. Ranaut said that children in educational institutions were also given information about hygiene and during this, special emphasis was laid on washing hands with soap, using clean drinking water, using toilets, not defecating in the open, keeping nails clean and maintaining cleanliness. Apart from this, girls in educational institutions were given information about maintaining hygiene during menstruation, regular change of sanitary pads, nutrition and the importance of iron.
