First aid training given to traders and hotel dhaba owners at Junga Hospital
A one-day training camp on road safety and first aid was organized at the Civil Hospital, Junga, on Wednesday. In addition to the local Chamber of Commerce, roadside hotel, restaurant, and shop owners participated.
Dr. Manoj Verma, the hospital’s medical officer, explained that whenever a road accident occurs, roadside shopkeepers, hotel and restaurant workers, and local residents are the first to respond. The government has launched a program to train them in first aid and rescue technical skills. In this camp, information was provided on how to use available resources to provide first aid, bandaging, stopping bleeding, and CPR to save the injured person’s life before the medical team arrives.
He explained that road accidents are divided into four categories. First, those in the Red category, meaning those in a very serious condition, must be immediately taken to the hospital after first aid. Then, those in the Yellow category, meaning those who can walk a little, and those in the Green category, meaning those with minor injuries, must be taken to the hospital in sequence. Finally, those in the Black category, meaning those who have lost their lives in the accident, must be taken to the hospital.
Dr. Manoj explained that road accidents should be immediately reported to the nearest local administration or police so that relief and rescue operations can be carried out in a timely manner. He also provided information at the training camp about CPR, artificial respiration for heart attack patients, bandaging, and how to tie wooden splints for fractures.
Trade Board President Rajesh Kaushal, Sandeep Sood, Pratap Thakur, Maniram Hotel Operator, Deepak and people from various sections participated in the camp.
