Sanjay Sood Appointed as Head of Forest Force

In a significant administrative move, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh has appointed Shri Sanjay Sood, IFS, to the state’s top forestry post. Based on the recommendations of a Special Selection Committee, Shri Sood will now serve as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, leading the Forest Force for Himachal Pradesh.

An experienced officer of the 1993 Himachal Pradesh cadre, Shri Sood brings considerable expertise to this pivotal role. He will assume his responsibilities in Shimla with immediate effect.

To ensure a smooth transition and continuity in key projects, Shri Sood will also continue to oversee his former responsibilities. He has been entrusted with the additional charge of Managing Director for the H.P. State Forest Development Corporation Ltd., and Chief Project Director for the JICA project in Himachal Pradesh. This decision underscores the state’s commitment to cohesive leadership for its vital forestry and environmental initiatives.
