Zonal sports competition for under-19 students begins at Janedghat
The zonal-level sports competition for the under-19 students of the Mashobra division began on Friday at the Government Senior Secondary School, Janedghat, near Junga. In the competition, 376 student athletes from 20 government and private schools in the Mashobra division are showcasing their talents in various sports.
Social activist M.R. Verma inaugurated the competition. He saluted the impressive march past presented by the athletes. On this occasion, he urged the athletes to participate in the competitions with a sporting spirit. He said that sports play an important role in the physical, intellectual, and mental development of students. Through sports, children develop discipline, competition, team spirit, and a tendency to work hard.
School Principal Dr. Sohan Ranta welcomed the chief guest and provided detailed information about the various arrangements made by the school for the successful conduct of the competition. He informed that the competition will conclude on September 13th. On this occasion, the Sports Committee honored the chief guest and other dignitaries.
SMC head Dinesh Sharma, former head Mahesh Dutt, block coordinator Rahul Sharma, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Baldeya Ramakrishna Markandeya along with Suresh, Bhishma, Ramanand, Renu Kumari, Pooja Kumari, Sita Devi, Bhushan Kumar, Pankaj and Ravindra and other dignitaries were present in the program.
