Youths demand extension of MTW application date till September 1st

 Youth from the Mashobra block have urged the state government to extend the application deadline for 40 positions across various categories in the Jal Shakti Department, Kasumpti Division. The youth say that the application deadline has been set for August 20th, but due to preparations for Independence Day celebrations in schools, many youth have not received their eighth-grade certificates on time. Consequently, a large number of youth may be unable to apply.
The youth have demanded from the government that the last date of application should be extended from 20th August to at least 1st September, so that all eligible candidates get adequate opportunity to apply.
It is worth noting that a total of 40 posts in various categories are to be filled in the Kasumpti division of the Water Power Department. These include 12 para-pump operators, 3 para-fitters, and 25 multi-task workers. The last date for applications for these posts is August 20th.
Youth have also raised questions about the 2024 recruitment of multi-task workers. They allege that despite the established qualification of passing the eighth grade, some positions were filled by candidates with other technical qualifications. Demanding an impartial investigation into the matter, the youth stated that the recruitment process should be based on the prescribed qualifications and rules.
The youth also say that experience certificates are required for multi-task worker positions, while most local youth lack them. They allege that some individuals are obtaining old experience certificates through contractors and obtaining countersignatures from the department. The youth have urged the state government to ensure that there is no political interference in the recruitment process, and that selections should be made solely on the basis of merit and established rules.
In this regard, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Mandal Kasumpti Vinod Sharma said that at present there is no plan to extend the last date of application.
