Women should become self-reliant and serve the society and the nation : Kiran Sharma

Women of Matrishakti Gram Sangathan celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm in village Dhali Bagda of Junga Tehsil. Women mesmerized the audience by dancing to one Pahari song after another. Poonam Thakur boosted the morale of women by reciting a poem about the contribution of women in society. Kiran Sharma, Pradhan of Peeran Panchayat, said in her address that women have been called Lakshmi in religious scriptures and women bear all the hardships and discharge their responsibilities in various forms. She said that it is a matter of pride that women are progressing rapidly in every field but there has been no reduction in the atrocities being committed on women in the society, which is a matter of concern.
Kiran Sharma said that in the present scenario, it has become the need of the hour for every woman to be aware of her rights and duties. She said that as a result of welfare schemes being run by the state and central government for the socio-economic upliftment of women, innumerable women have become self-reliant and are playing their part in the society in a positive way. She urged the women of self-help groups to start their own self-employment along with their daily household chores, for which they will get full support from the government and the panchayat.
On this occasion, Anu Kashyap, head of Matri Shakti Gram Sangathan, welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the various activities being run by the organization. Other women of the organization present were Poonam Thakur, Sunita, Sheetala, Santosh, Sheela, Priya, Poonam, Lakshmi, Asha, Pushpa and other women.
