Waves Doc Bazaar 2026 invites applications for Viewing Room
In a move that opens exciting doors for creative talent, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has invited online applications for short films, documentaries and animation projects to be showcased in the Viewing Room section of Waves Doc Bazaar 2026, part of the Mumbai International Film Festival.
A spokesperson for the state government shared that the Viewing Room serves as a unique global platform where filmmakers can present their recently completed or post-production projects to an international audience of film festival programmers, distributors, investors and industry buyers.
This exclusive platform is designed to help creators connect with global opportunities—whether it’s for festival screenings, film distribution, world sales or even securing finishing funds. The Viewing Room operates in a secure and curated environment, ensuring that projects receive focused attention from the right stakeholders.
The opportunity is open to documentary and animation films of all formats, including short, mid-length and feature films, as long as a significant part of the filming has already been completed. However, projects that are still in the development or pre-production stage will not be considered.
Filmmakers with projects that have had limited or no international exposure are especially encouraged to apply, making this an ideal platform for emerging creators looking to gain global visibility.
