Vinay Kumar urged district presidents to guarantee maximum participation in Save MNREGA movement

State Congress President Vinay Kumar has asked district presidents to ensure maximum participation in the Save MNREGA movement in the state against the central government’s decision to weaken MNREGA by changing its name. He said that on the guidelines of the All India Congress Committee, there should be no shortage of participation from the state in the nationwide Save MNREGA movement and this campaign, directed by the central high command, must be successfully completed.
Today, while presiding over the first meeting of the newly appointed district presidents of the State Congress Committee at the State Congress Headquarters Rajiv Bhawan, after discussing the program directed by the Central High Command on organizing MNREGA Bachao Sangharsh from January 10 in the state, its organization was finalized.
In the meeting, it was also decided to appoint district and block coordinators to assist the district presidents in this event.
As per the scheduled programme, the District President will hold a press conference in every district on January 10 against the changes in MNREGA. The presence of district ministers, MLAs and senior party leaders has also been ensured in this.
Similarly, on January 11th, a one-day symbolic fast will be observed in front of prominent places and statues of national leaders in every district. Public outreach will be held at the Panchayat level from January 12th to 29th, followed by a peaceful protest at the ward level on January 30th, a district-level Save MNREGA protest from January 31st to February 6th, a state-level protest from February 7th to 15th, and regional AICC rallies from February 16th to 25th.
Rajni Patil, a member of the All India Congress Working Committee and in-charge of state affairs, joined the meeting virtually and instructed everyone that Congress will not allow injustice to the poor. She said that the central government has destroyed the very soul of MNREGA by changing its name and removing Mahatma Gandhi’s name. She said that the party should leave no stone unturned in the All India Congress Committee’s Save MNREGA campaign against this. She said that Congress will continue its fight against it until the central government restores it to its original form.

All India Congress Committee Secretary and Co-Incharge of State Affairs, Vidit Chaudhary, who was present at the meeting, said that Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge have appointed district presidents as part of the organization’s creation. He said that they must actively participate in the Save MNREGA movement and ensure its success in their respective districts.
The newly appointed presidents of all 11 districts were present in the meeting.
