Vigilance arrest MVI, tout red handed at Darlaghat

THE team of vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau arrested a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) and a tout red handed with the bribe money at a hotel in Darlaghjat area of Arki sub division of this district, last night.

 ACB and Vigilance Superintendent of Police Anjum Aara said that following a tip off , a team was constituted that raided the room of the hotel  and nabbed the culprits namely MVI Sameer Dutta and his tout Dinesh red handed with bribed money amounting to Rs. 5, 68,500. Duos were counting the bribed money when the sleuths raided the hotel.

Notably, the MVI had fixed the date for inspection of commercial and private vehicles at Darla on Tuesday. It was believed that cash recovered by police was collected by the culprits in lieu of issuing the inspection report. Duo would be produced before the court. A case has been registered.
